PLS – Performance Live Series
The series will in its first round introduce six artists working with BKN as a platform. Artists are invited to spend 1 month at BKN in the northern Stockholm Archipelago. In addition artists affiliated with BKN/WAP will be invited to continue to build on the platform. Video documentation or works based on performances are well established and often they intersects. PLS in 2025 explores the live aspect of performance through a widely dispersed audience. The listing of artists below, in addition each artist will have a page of their own with artist presentation, live cast, documentation of live experience and a podcast where they are in conversation with another artist.
FUNDING
Funding is in progress. If you want to support the project please let us know. We are also looking for land owners in the Björkö area for implementing a version of PLS as QR code bases exhibition. We hope that some will join us with support from Culture Moves Europe among other grant entities.

ABOUT THE FORMAT
Inviting artists Anna Viola Hallberg and Ami Skånberg have their studio at BKN and are looking forward to explore collaborations with the PLS artists.
PLS artists become part of the group proposing new artists to invite. This relay curatorial format is essential for the thematics being explored in the series. The participating artists also have their audiences so slowly we will accumulate a specific audience for PLS in addition to the one BKN has.

The PLS is a format by Anna Viola Hallberg taking place at BKN in 2025 exploring live performance in a rural setting with audiences connecting to the 5 years Hallberg has been the curator for BKN. During this time artists in various mediums has been at BKN/Björkö Sweden many of them with a practice based in lens or performative practices.
Together with the specific artists we will work on how to best share the performances facilitating live web casts across various plat forms.
Core executive curators for PLS are BERG DUO consisting of Ami Skånberg and Anna Viola Hallberg. The format stems from their curatorial work with Walking As Practice and BKN. BERG DUO ar members of Performance Philosophy.
