The Unfold

Curators: Berg Duo

At times our ideas come to us as a consequence of others. This is the case with The Unfold concept. Curator and artist Rebekah Dean invited Berg Duo to do an artwork for her exhibition in London as part of the Sculpture trail project; The Sky is moving Sideways . In November 2024 as Dean did a curatorial talk with Berg Duo an idea emerged to keep developing walking scores as part of a relay concept. Where an artist develops a score and passes it on to another artist to perform. In order to keep the relay going for 12 sessions the artist taking on a score secures the path by having the next artist ready. Each score is by this informed by the previous score. The Unfold takes place in 2024 and 2025.

Originally performed by: Rebekah Dean and Laura Morton Griffiths at Stephens House and Gardens, London (uk). The score was part of the program for “The Sky is Moving Sideways” and was available for all visitors to do during the time of the exhibition as a participatory performance.
Additional: Berg Duo recorded a version of Sculpture You in Rome where they them selfs performed the score not in front of sculptures but as sculptures.
